Musical Charades
We don’t need clients to conform to how society acts socially, but it is helpful to understand how others operate and express themselves. Not understanding body language, tone of voice, and other versions of expression can lead to confusion and concern. Additionally, clients can feel pressure that some emotions are “bad” and they can’t feel a certain way - well we’re here to prove them wrong!
This musical game provides a structure for clients to both act out and see a variety of emotions and social situations modeled for them. We offer both suggestions for songs / emotions / social situations for you to use, or you have blank cards that you can tailor specifically to your client! Not only can this game be a hands-on look to social-emotional skills, it can also lead to meaningful discussion, such as how we can cope with emotions when we feel them, etc.
Grab a karaoke microphone, some instruments to play, or your favorite speaker and enjoy! 🎶
